Kama pronounced Kaama is Cupid and
the ‘Killer of Kama’, is Siva Himself.
The legend is as follows.
Kama disturbed Siva engaged in tapas,
and this ended in his being reduced
to ashes by the wrathful stare from
Siva’s third eye, the eye of wisdom.
