In the highest sense, Yoga means ‘Union’ – Union of the
Individual Self and the Universal Being which is of the
nature of Reality, Awareness and Bliss. It is actually
the withdrawal of the turbulent ego and mind into its own
Immortal, Peaceful, Undisturbed Self.
In a pragmatic and practical sense, it means a Hindu
spiritual and ascetic discipline, a part of which,
including breath control, simple meditation, and the
adoption of specific bodily postures, is widely practiced
for health and relaxation.
